Welcome!

IMG_2326_editIn the spring of 2017, I put my children down for their afternoon nap and tiptoed into the living room to begin this blog.

While “The Naptime Author” is still the site’s address, my children have grown. Naptime is a thing of the past. I’ve gone from being a full-time stay at home mom to a full-time mom AND a part-time teacher. And organist. And choir director. And a few other things…

Still, I’ve found stolen moments here and there and kept writing.

On this site, I share real stories from the Second World War- stories of suffering, survival, and sacrifice.

I also share reflections on publishing my two novels set during World War II- Whom Shall I Fear? and Where Shall I Flee? and lessons I’ve learned along the way.

Thank you so much for visiting. I hope you’ll join me to learn and remember the history we share!

The Lord is my light and my salvation—
    whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
    of whom shall I be afraid?

Though an army besiege me,
    my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
    even then I will be confident.

I remain confident of this:
    I will see the goodness of the Lord
    in the land of the living.
14 Wait for the Lord;
    be strong and take heart
    and wait for the Lord.

Psalm 27: 1, 3, 13, 14*
